Booking an Appointment

If you feel you need to see a GP about a routine problem, please call the surgery after 10:30am Monday - Friday. Pre-bookable appointments can be booked two weeks in advance.

The Practice operates an appointment system based on ten minute GP appointments. Please inform the receptionist, when making your appointment if you think you may need a longer appointment.

Urgent Appointments

If you feel you need an urgent on the day appointment, please call the surgery at 8am. Depending on the problem, a clinician may call you back in the first instance who will then triage your problem. They will book you an appointment if they feel necessary.

Telephone Consultations

The clinicians are happy to deal with queries that do not need a face-to-face consultation over the phone. Please ask the receptionist for a telephone call with a clinician. It will not be possible for the receptionist to tell you what time the clinician will call you as this will depend on the level of demand on that particular day.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30am.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

Saturday Appointments

If you find it difficult to arrange a doctors appointment due to work or other commitments, we offer appointments on Saturday mornings. It is not a walk in service and is only available for pre-booked appointments. The phone lines are not open on Saturdays.

Why do the receptionists ask for the problem?

Our reception team are here to direct our patients to the most appropriate team member. Not all issues require a Doctors appointment. Many people are not aware of the different roles within the practice or the services we offer. By obtaining a brief description, the receptionist can direct the patient to the most appropriate person, in the team.

Please do not be embarrassed. All of our reception staff are highly professional and patient confidentiality is of paramount importance.
