Repeat Prescriptions

If you are on regular long-term medication you may have a Repeat Prescription slip. You can use either our exterior post box or the dedicated prescription box just inside reception when you need further medication. We require 48 working hours notice to provide your repeat prescription.

Repeat Prescriptions can be collected from the surgery or we can send your prescription to a chemist of your choice. Please make us aware at the time of ordering if you wish to use this facility.

If you wish to have your prescription posted out to you please include a stamped addressed envelope with your request.

Medication requests cannot be taken over the phone. Please use the alternative methods above.

You can order your repeat medication online by using the following secure link:

-  Order Your Repeat Prescription Online  -

In accordance with NHS regulations we are only able to supply one month's supply of each medication per prescription; in exceptional circumstances, for example holiday abroad, additional packs may be allowed.

We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically.

Please call and ask to speak to Graeme our clinical pharmacist if you are on long term repeat medication if you are interested in the above.

Some patients may be identified as being suitable for Electronic Repeat Dispensing. This means that for some repeat medicines they may be issued at regular intervals in most cases for six months following the first request by the patient, avoiding the need to continually reorder and only have to collect from the nominated pharmacy at the appropriate time. Please discuss with your local pharmacy or the practice pharmacist if you feel you may be suitable for this

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to have a medication review with our Clinical Pharmacist Graeme, a doctor, or practice nurse at least once a year (some patients may require every six months) to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
